I LOVE big artwork in homes but it’s not cheap. The only way I have been able to bring oversized art into my home is by using #peelandstickwallpaper that I frame out with box molding. This is a #renterfriendly #budgetfriendly #DIY if you install it on the wall but to make it easy to move I would take the time to build a base (plywood or foam board) and frame it with molding. I just find installing it on the wall easier for me! My go to places for scalable murals is Photowall and Wall Blush! I have never used a drywall anchor to hang a picture or mirror… and I will probably make someone angry by saying that. The reality is I don’t see the need to do that when there is a much simpler solution that doesn’t require a ton of effort. I never showed the entire #playroommakeover and I have never talked about how I lost my career… my social media presence terrifies the corporate world! It was definitely very hard to come to terms with the fact that the career I dedicated so much time and energy into was gone. I am not going to ever hide a bad peel and stick removal… the world of #renterfriendly #DIY and #peelandstick can honestly be sketchy. I only found that out after I started doing it and discovered the hard way that I was getting fluffed up information… no not everthing is amazing, fantastic, and just because it’s peel and stick doesn’t make it renter friendly. I have always found it incredibly important to show the bad stuff so when you see any of my good recommendations you know I am being honest. Say goodbye to the space themed bedroom… and maybe TikTok. Today I started taking everything out of this room. The plan is to turn this into a moody (but bright) whimsical #bedroommakeover The one thing you should take away from this post today is that good #renterfriendly #peelandstickwallpaper saves your paint and your time. I used cheap contact paper to do the accent around the door and it peeled a ton of paint. I now have to fix that wall and paint! I was told over and over again to keep my content relevant to my “niche” and through that process I feel like I have lost what Being The Blooms was supposed to be. It was supposed to be a place where I shared my home ideas/thoughts and my life. My everyday real life hasn’t been shown for a long time and slowly over time my spunky + fun personality has kinda disappeared. Let’s make a salad while I share a little bit of my story… I haven’t really talked about this much, but my experience is really the foundation of this page. My knowledge around #DIY #interiordesign is not actually random and when I talk about something being #renterfriendly #homedecor there is a knowledge base there since I worked in property management for landlords. Well I thought it would be fun to do a “behind the scenes” for Day 4 of the #bedroommakeover because today was a mess. These #homedecor projects were supposed to be very easy and quick… they were not. First change was swapping out the curtains. I couldn’t get the rod off and then I got sent the wrong length of curtains. I pivoted to using another set of curtains that are the proper length. The pointless ledge was going to get decorated. I had this idea of doing hanging vines to start… well I can’t get the command hooks I bought to stick even after washing the ledge. I am coming back to this but I needed to walk away. Why am I sharing this? Not everything is perfect and is going to go as planned. It’s okay!! This is perfectly normal in the #DIY and #homeimprovement world… the bad days are just not shown enough.

Day 3 of the whimsical #bedroommakeover was hanging up these curtains that will frame her bed (that isn’t here right now). We originally wanted to do a ceiling mounted canopy that wrapped around the bed BUT I can’t due to the ceiling fan being in the way. She wants to keep the ceiling fan soo I going to work with my options. This was what I came up with! In the Bloom house we do the “hide the junk #organization method”… all my furniture pieces pretty much have hidden storage. I absolutely take pride in hiding our junk since I have never lived in a house that has good storage. I have always had to figure out ways to hide things strategically. I gave up on complex organization systems years ago with my kids… they know what basket or storage areas purpose is but it never fails they will just throw the stuff in there when picking up. I really don’t care anymore because it’s picked up and put in the right spot to find later. It works for us!! Day 1 of the whimsical #bedroommakeover starts of course with #peelandstickwallpaper Let’s talk about this wallpaper… I have put roommates wallpaper on my knockdown texture many times and it has never fallen down or given me issues. It is always one of my favorite #budgetfriendly #renterfriendly options. For this 10x10 wall it should have taken 6 rolls but five worked out okay because the pattern is forgiving. Order a few more rolls than you think just in case because you can always return the extras. #DIY #homedecor

Day 2 of the whimsical #bedroommakeover and I didn’t have a ton of time today to do a more in-depth project so I quickly put up these #peelandstickdecals that are in a scallop pattern to give this window some detail. This is a #renterfriendly #DIY but it is soo much easier and less messy than if I used paint to do this. I also don’t have to worry about if I don’t like it later on… I can just rip it off. #homedecor #homeideas #homeimprovement #easydiy

I have never been a good #housewife I jumped into a really intense career shortly after Lily was born. I was obsessed with the idea of being a young mom with a big career… I had the big career eventually but I absolutely sucked at managing my home.
