Obsessed with these night train cabins 🤯 travel details ⬇️ - I got my @Eurail Pass on Klook (they have the same price as booking direct but have a better free cancellation policy), I had a 15 days in two months pass in first class which is usually €702 but I booked during a 25% off sale - P.S. use promocode FINDINGALEXXKLOOK to save 10% on most Europe adventures on Klook (unfortunately not applicable with the Eurail pass 😭) - In Vienna I stayed at @Numa | rooms & apartments Strauss for €84 per night - My mini cabin from Vienna to Hamburg (about 13 hours) was €40 with my Eurail Pass - Without a Eurail Pass this mini cabin would’ve been €170 at the time I booked - From Hamburg I caught a train to Copenhagen which was free with my Eurail pass (no reservation needed) but I wanted a window seat so I reserved one for €6.50, a full price ticket would’ve been €66.50 - These Nightjet trains are run by @ÖBB | Österr. 🌄 Everything to know before visiting the Dolomites without a car! My top tips ⬇️ 🚞 There’s no major airport here but there are easy train links from Milan, Venice, Verona + Innsbruck in Austria and Munich in Germany 🗣️ Many regions and towns have multiple names, in Italian and German and sometimes Ladin (a local language) 🌞 Seasons determine public transport options, summer has cable cars and more buses/shuttles but they get busy and some need to be booked in advance, shoulder seasons have fewer departures and cable cars close for winter changeover 🗺️ Choose a strategic base with easy access to adventures, Ortisei is ideal for Seceda/Alpe di Siusi but you could also consider Dobbiaco, Cortina d’Ampezzo or Bolzano 🐢 Take your time, car-free travel takes more time for planning and getting around, I’d recommend five days minimum so you have three full days for adventures 🎟️ Most hotels in South Tyrol include the Sudtirol guest pass which gives you free public transport ⏰ Don’t lose track of time or you might miss the last bus or cable car 📆 Book in advance, the affordable accomm in the best-connected villages get booked up early 💃🏼 Be realistic! Don’t try cram too much into your trip or you’ll be exhausted and need a holiday after your holiday. TRAVEL DETAILS ⬇️ - In Zurich I stayed at Pop Up Krone Hotel for €108 in a basic single room with a shared bathroom (very expensive for what it is, wouldn’t recommend) - I caught the Eurocity Transalpin from Zurich to Bischofshofen in Austria (the train goes all the way to Graz but sunset was around 4.30 so the end of the trip would’ve been in the shade) - The train was fully covered by my @Eurail Pass but I paid €3 for an optional seat reservation to make sure I got a window seat (would’ve been €230 last minute without my rail pass 😱) - In Bischofshofen I stayed at Harry’s Home for €86 per night (loved it!) - Chose not to visit Hallstatt due to their overtourism struggles - Trained from Bischofshofen to Vienna which was also fully covered by my Eurail pass - In Vienna I stayed at @Numa | rooms & apartments (their Strauss location) for €84 a night for a big one bedroom apartment #switzerlandtravel #austriatravel #visitaustria #europetravel #europetraintravel #eurail #traveleurope
