Think grandma was just as excited 🥹 Surprising my grandad with his favourite things for his 80th Birthday 🥹🎉 Love my grandad so much, so grateful to have such a wonderful, supportive family. 81 Mars Bars next year gdad?? 🤣 Celebrating the sweetest man I know on his special day. Happy 80th, Grandad! 💖🍫 #BirthdayJoy #surprise #reaction #wholesome #FamilyMoments #GrandadLove #CherishedMemories #Accessibility
My car broke down on a busy, dangerous road a few months ago and I had no way of getting out so had to call the Police to come rescue me as I was obstructing traffic. Two police officers from Warwickshire police were there in minutes, stopped the traffic, helped me transfer into the passenger seat and then one of them drove my car to a lay-by (with the foot pedals) I then plugged the handset in and after problem solving what was going on, we realised it worked when plugged in so must be a battery issue. Come with me to get the battery replaced so that I can use my adaptive accelerator without needing it to be plugged in. There are so many adaptive solutions to make driving possible for disabled people out there and this one works really well for me as it gives my right hand the freedom to assist my left hand on the steering wheel. As with all equipment, it can fail, but hopefully replacing the battery has now solved that issue 🤞 #ComeWithMe #DITL #WheelchairGirl
Sometimes the hardest goodbyes are the ones we know are coming. My sweet Bessler, you've been my constant companion, filling my life with love and joy. As Monday approaches, I prepare to let you go, but you'll never be forgotten. You will always have a piece of my heart 💔
Imagine waiting for your taxi, only for the driver to see your wheelchair and drive straight past, canceling the ride. This happens far too often, and it’s something I’ve sadly become used to. Come with me for my first time out of my house since losing my best friend. I headed to London with my mum and PA for a @Soap & Glory event, where I even got pulled into some line dancing- it was so fun! It’s moments like these that remind me how important it is to keep pushing for accessibility and equality for everyone. We deserve to get taxis too! #AccessibilityForAll #EqualRights #InclusiveTravel #RaiseYourVoice #DayInTheLife #LondonLife
HELP! I’m down to zero fully-working limbs now 😭 Let this be a lesson for all of us… Start off slowly at the gym and gradually increase the intensity and duration of your workouts instead of trying to do too much too soon, especially if you’re a beginner of disabled, like me; prioritise proper form and learning the equipment before pushing yourself to the limit and potentially injuring yourself. DON’T FORGET TO WARM UP! Thank goodness for my wax therapy bath, it saved me!! All my Ehlers Danlos family; we are at a significantly higher risk of developing tendonitis due to the inherent joint hypermobility which weakens the connective tissue in tendons, making them more prone to inflammation and injury from overuse or repetitive motions; essentially, the loose connective tissue in EDS can lead to unstable joints and increased strain on tendons, causing tendonitis. Don’t make the same mistake I did (again make sure you pace yourself, warm up and know your limits. #wheelchairgirl #chronicillness #ehlersdanlossyndrome #adaptiveworkout #tendonitis #satisfying #wheelchairlife
7 years ago, we were told my mum wouldn’t make it to the new year. Today, she’s cancer-free and proving every doctor who lost hope wrong. She is the strongest, most selfless person I know—always putting everyone else before herself, even in her hardest battles. Mum, you are my biggest inspiration, my hero, and my heart. I’m so grateful for every single day with you. Happy Mother’s Day ❤️ We had a beautiful day out together at Butterfly World 🦋 this week 🥰 #MothersDay #MyInspiration #CancerSurvivor #NonHodgkinsLymphoma @Jo Pohl
SEVEN TIMES I have reported to the staff of this @Next store that the aisles are extremely narrow, some I cannot even go down. STILL nothing has been done, they don’t even offer to help most times, just laugh and give me some excuse like “haha yeah we have a lot of stock out at the moment”, “the store has had a big move around because we have some sale items still in”, “haha yeah I know, sorry about that”… on all occasions, I have just put the items that I was looking at back and left the store, I feel discriminated against and not listened to; almost like they don’t want my custom. Once I couldn’t even get to the till, the area was so cluttered with rails and display shelving, the aisles were not wide enough to get down. It’s important to note that it isn’t just this retailer, there are so many that don’t consider those with disabilities and access needs (and pushchairs!) when arranging the layout of their shop floor. This isn’t just an oversight, I have reported this MANY times, over many months. WHY are we not thought about? WHY are we not listened to? WHY do you not want us to shop in your stores? WE SHOULDN’T BE AN INCONVENIENT AFTERTHOUGHT?! 📣‼️ Next- if you wish to talk to me about this, I would be more than happy to- I WANT to be listened to, I WANT to shop at your stores 🙌 #CallToAction #Accessibility #AccessibilityForAll #WheelchairGirl #UK
Have you been on an NHS waiting list? If you haven’t- I’m very jealous! Been feeling drained due to vitamin deficiencies, and while the NHS works hard, the long waiting lists have left me stuck. I decided to go private for infusions and shots to get some relief. It’s frustrating that we’re forced to pay for something like this when the NHS should be providing it in a timely manner. Here’s my journey to getting back on track and restoring my energy. 💉💪 #VitaminDeficiency #HealthJourney #EnergyBoost #PrivateHealthcare #NHSStruggles #UK
It’s Bessler’s 10th Birthday today, I was looking back at old photos and videos and found this memory 🥹 Everytime I got in the swimming pool, Bess would always jump in a pull me out 🤣 he was about 7 months old when this was taken. #dogsoftiktok #funny #vizsla #comedy
Grandma’s didn’t actually come at a shock, she talks about it all the time! I also promise grandad is more enthusiastic than he seems about Adolescence- he’s the one who suggested I should watch it 🤣 What do you recommend? 🍿 #PopcornPicks #UKTV #UK #Wholesome #Comedy #ITV #Netflix #Adolescence #WatchList
you’ve left a paw print on our hearts. You passed peacefully at home at 10 years old, with one last bite of your beloved pan-fried liver. Even when we tried to sneak you some chocolate, you knew better (always a good boy). Thank you for all the love and joy you gave. You’ll always be with us. ❤️🐾🕊️ #GoodbyeBessler #ForeverInOurHearts
Today, I have to say goodbye to the one who made my world brighter every single day. It’s breaking my heart to let you go, but I know you’ll always be with me in spirit, forever in my heart. I’ll never forget the love, loyalty, and comfort you gave. Rest in peace, my sweet friend. You’ll always be my best companion. 💔
Does anyone know how to get the balloon down, or do I just have to wait for it to deflate? 😭🎈 Bessler’s 10th Birthday 🎁 #birthday #Vlog #minivlog #comedy #funny #dogsoftiktok #vizsla
Happy International Wheelchair Day!👩🏻🦽Here’s a funny video of my wheelchair vs. the Mercedes girl... because why not add a little humor to the mix while celebrating strength and independence? 💪 Today, on International Wheelchair Day, we celebrate the power of perseverance, independence, and the drive to break down barriers. Let’s remember, it’s not just about mobility—it’s about creating a world where everyone has the freedom to move forward. My wheelchair is more than just a tool; it’s a symbol of independence and freedom. It empowers me to move through the world, explore new places, and engage with life on my own terms. It gives me the ability to navigate spaces, whether it’s a daily routine or an adventure, while breaking down barriers and challenging limitations. My wheelchair provides comfort and support, helping me to remain strong, resilient, and connected to the world around me. It’s not just about mobility—it’s about living life fully and embracing the possibilities it brings! #InternationalWheelchairDay #WheelchairGirl #BreakingBarriers #FunnyVideo #WheelchairLife
Real talk: 10 days ago, I had to say goodbye to my dog at home. For my mum, a trained nurse who’s seen death up close, it was peaceful. But for me? It was a whole different experience. Grief hits us in unexpected ways. If you've been through something similar, drop a comment and let me know how you coped #realtalk #PetLoss #GriefJourney
This girl is ready to LIVE her life again 🥹 When I first became disabled, I struggled to accept my ‘new normal’, took it out on myself and didn’t want to carry on with life. Shortly after this, my mindset shifted, that’s where ‘stop fighting yourself and start fighting FOR yourself’ came in. I soon realised that I COULD still enjoy my life and it is still possible to take part in the activities I enjoyed. Yes, life can still be challenging now but it’s definitely possible to overcome these barriers, I just have to find a way to adapt. After an extremely rough start to February, with the loss of my beloved dog and best friend, I’m so excited for what’s to come! I have so much more life to LIVE! Now to plan my next adventure… ID: 1.
