I’ve been doing this for years & it’s helped me catch companies sneakily selling my data. If you live in an apartment building it’s probably best to leave your last name on the package so it doesn’t get lost. In those instances I’ll just add a code after my first name. For example, if I’m ordering pet food, I’ll be Cathy (pet) Pedrayes or if it was Amazon I could put (AMZ). Traffickers aren’t snatching people from Target, they build a relationship with the person and then use that to manipulate them. This relationship makes it less likely the person will run away or seek help.
